I ran across an "early" writing in Latin. Does anyone know what it means? Illegitimus non carborundum est. My guess is that it is a long lost secret as to how to live happily. Thanks

Grant for meeting

Unfortunately, the William Penn Foundation says they will only give grants to local Phila. area groups, so even though I indicated we have a lrge no. of members in the Philly area, they won't cough up any dough. I'm not downhearted but I'm getting there.

Philadelphia Auction Items

I don't see why we can't post all of the items donated for the Philadelphia auction. We can decide on a deadline--say March 31--for me to receive the items so I can write them up. That would give everyone a month or to check out the items on line. We should get more money that way.

Anyway I'm half Polish and I am a bird enthusiast.

There are many issues we can get going here. I looked at Brian's email and all his points are valid and pertinent. I spent 5 hours getting a grant applicationin to the William Penn Foundation for $2000 to cover Wiz's seminar at Philadelphia next May. Please pray for this, or cross your fingers, kock onwood etc, whatever works for you. I also would like everyone to think about the possibility of having some of the fantastic autographs I've collected from Philadelphia personalities for next May's meeting. How about getting these on the Society website and getting bids from members who won't be able to attend the meeting??
Off to Africa in 36 hours, see you in november.

Hello all,

Nice work Ed -- great way to keep in touch!

I sent a game plan to Ed B. re: a membership drive. He distributed to Dennis, Barton, Ed. O and David. Fellows, let me know your thoughts. If you beleive it has meirt, it is best to move on this proior to the Holiday maling season, or we'll need to wait until Februray or March to implement.

Also, I'd like to see a copy of the MS survey results from a while back.

Lastly, Does the MS create an annual budget and financial plan? If so, might I get a copy?
